Tree Trunk & Branch Calculator

Tree Trunk & Branch Light Calculator
Based on over 20 years of experience wrapping trees professionally, we’ve created this two-part calculator to guide your lighting plan. First, calculate lights for the trunk. Then, estimate branch coverage — both are essential for a balanced, professional look.
While this is a powerful planning tool, remember: no two trees are the same. The only way to create an exact bid is by measuring each tree on-site. This calculator offers a strategic starting point to help you communicate expectations with clients and protect your time, labor, and profitability.
How to Measure Your Trunk
To get an accurate estimate, measure the height and diameter of your tree trunk, and determine your desired spacing. This tool is based on 100-count 5mm mini light strands (33' total length with 4" bulb spacing).

1. Measure Trunk Height

2. Measure Trunk Diameter

3. Choose Spacing (recommend 4in spacing)
